Qualifications:

Any person willing to volunteer is qualified to work with VARAS.

Fees:

Volunteers working with VARAS are required to pay the amount of $570 (US) a month and this is non-refundable. It must be paid on the first or second day upon arrival so that your needs can be catered to properly.


What the money is used for:

1. Transportation - Includes the movement from the airport to your workplace.

2. Accommodation - Includes all of the facilities used in the house for instant electricity. Volunteers will be staying with judiciously selected host families to give them the opportunity to learn, appreciate, and tolerate African people and their culture.

3. Food / Health – Includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Potable water for drinking and washing is provided. Food consumption is based on well cooked and nourishing balanced local dishes. You should know that African cuisine is delicious and very nutritious!
